House Churches

GET A FREE VERSE DAILY
The Hill Country Christian Fellowship has several "House Churches" that meet in the Dripping Springs, Texas area.

  • Each House Church is comprised of 3 to 6 families.  They meet in each other’s homes, share struggles and victories, study the Bible and pray.  The House Church is where much of the work of this fellowship takes place.
  • Jesus describes his servants as being like “salt, light and leaven,” and we believe the House Church model helps facilitate our efforts to be more like Jesus in the community.  Particpants are encouraged and support each other, and encourage one another to actively seek opportunities to help others in the community.
  • Because of the intimate nature of the House Church, members can move personally and quickly to meet pressing needs – in and out of the church community.
  • The House Church model is not new.  In fact, the Bible talks about “the church that meets in her house”, talking about the church at the home of Nympha and later, Lydia (Col. 4, Acts 16:40).  On two occasions the Bible mentions “the church that meets in the home of Priscilla and Aquila” (Rom. 16:5 and I Cor. 16).  Churches also met in the homes of Jason and Titius Justus.
  • Perhaps the greatest thing that happens in a House Church is consistent encouragement and motivation.  Because members know each other personally, encouragement and prayer come naturally and frequently.
